How would moving backwards allow us to know the unknown? Over the last months, following travels in Oceania, Southeast Asia, and in reverse between Berlin and Nairobi, I began to notice patterns of reversal as a way of sensing what lies ahead. Paths retraced, walks repeat in reverse, as if pacing future encounters through past movements. These happenings became ideas of allowing things to happen without control and in slowness, intentional slowing down to hear, and feel. Reversal became not a retreat but a form of anticipation: a way of orienting forward by stepping back. Reverse Mix grows out of these slow reversals across different geographies and temporalities, where places once experienced are re-entered through sound. In this mix reverse is understood not as literal to movement, but as its continuation: an alternative forward motion shaped by memory.
