Entre Malezas #9. الْدابا, aldaba , de Jonás de Murias

The nstrç no prtremç project explores a corpus of 16th-century Aljamiado texts and related works, seeking parallels between linguistic strategies from periods not so far apart in time: those of the Moriscos during their expulsion centuries ago and those unfolding today, in the current conflicts surrounding European supremacist migration policies or genocides such as those in Palestine and Lebanon. As a result of this research, this compilation comprises almost an hour of diverse popular music which, through their interplay, addresses material and cultural dispossession or exile. And it does so by invoking relationships that also resonate with one another: those of territory through nostalgia, those of state-identities through a sense of alienation, and those of the land tenure system through sound.

Jonás de Murias composes sound-linguistic landscapes with a hypertextual drive by processing found materials and his own voice.
