Tin Ayala (born in 1998, Andes, on territory currently occupied by Ecuador) explores celebration as an instrument of cultural emancipation within the Andean diaspora. Through the design of objects and performative devices of collective joy, he transforms festive rituals into spaces that question colonial legacies and deploy new community possibilities. By mobilising abigarramiento as a methodology, he creates—through piñatas, sound systems, live music, and other tools of celebration—that transform everyday acts of festivity into moments of self-determination and political action.
