La Casa Encendida, belonging to Fundación Montemadrid, is a social and cultural center, a dynamic space open to audiences of all ages and persuasions where visitors can find some of today's most ground-breaking artistic expressions as well as educational, philosophical and debating activities that revolve around the center’s four main spheres of action: Arts, Social Action and inclusion. The center organizes various activities in each of these areas, attempting to satisfy the interests and needs of an engaged audience attentive to the changing trends of today. The center cultivates a variety of relations with audiences and local partners, due to its multidisciplinarity and its centrality in Madrid’s cultural landscape. It supports and encourages civic participation in the creation, promotion and comprehension of contemporary culture, promoting personal growth, social integration and teamwork through projects and activities related to the disabled community, cooperation aid, employment and volunteer work.
The center has its activity distributed and consistent throughout the whole year that allows continuity to the project both in terms of operational backing, artistic support, residency opportunities, and communication. La Casa Encendida Radio features an established program of podcasts, discussions and guest mixes related to, among others, gender inclusion, or sustainability. Role in the project: La Casa Encendida will be participating in all work packages of the project, facilitating artistic exchanges, inviting international artists to the local festivals, collaborating with local curators and co-curating content for the online radio festival, drawing inspiration and knowledge from their previous programming.
