Raised amidst rain and reverberation, LaMia Mari charts an emotional map that resonates between noise and the body, skirting the club scene from the fringes, the intimate and the fractal.
Everything that trembles
This set emerges from a place that is no place: a space of transition, of movement, but where everything that trembles within me finds a place to exist.
At this moment in my life, this collection of sounds is the most honest way I have of expressing how I feel: in the repeating basslines, in the silences, in the textures.
It is a set that breathes in cycles, expanding and contracting. At times the sound is fluid, with textures that barely hold a shape, whilst at others it intensifies the pulse. Between these extremes lies a tension between control and letting go; between what can be organised and what simply happens.
This set does not seek clarity, but presence. An attempt to let the sound think for me and throw me into disarray. To let it reveal to me what trembles within me. The undergrowth grows without permission, defying all rules, and its vibration disrupts what seems fixed. So too does this set: it bursts into the orderly, even in the quietest of spaces.
Everything that trembles is like life itself: irregular, persistent and overflowing.
