The word ‘weeds’ takes me back to my grandparents’ and parents’ vegetable gardens. Always close to the Mediterranean Sea, which is for me an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

A sea that pains me because it has become one of the largest graveyards due to inhumane political decisions, and which pains me because of the very contradiction that these policies represent to the spirit of brotherhood that runs along the shores of the entire Mediterranean.

Inshallah, it will soon once again become the bridge of cultures and knowledge that it is meant to be.
